(PC)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is a little known, but very handy tip that you can use whenever you want to hide your files and folders for whatever reason (e.g.  the files have valuable financial info, you don&#8217;t want anyone else who uses your computer to see them, etc.).  It&#8217;s very easy to do, but I still felt the need to do a video about it.  I also added the text below the video in case you prefer to read.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the video!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n[youtube]http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=LVc-DiNjVTA[\/youtube]\n<p>\nAnd here is the text version of how to do it:<\/p>\n<p><strong><big>How to Hide Your Files and Folders<\/big><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. \u00a0RIGHT-click on the folder that you want to hide, go to PROPERTIES, and check the box next to &#8220;Hidden&#8221; at the bottom of that window<br \/>\n2. \u00a0Click OK<br \/>\n3. \u00a0Select &#8220;Apply Changes to this folder, subfolders, and files&#8221; (this setting will hide everything inside that folder; &#8220;subfolders&#8221; are folders that are inside that folder)<br \/>\n4. \u00a0Click OK again<br \/>\n5. \u00a0The folder will disappear<\/p>\n<p><b>How to See the Hidden Folder and its Contents, and Then<br \/>\nHide Them Again<\/b><\/p>\n<p>1. \u00a0To see the folder as well as its contents again, open Windows\u00a0Explorer (Go to START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>WINDOWS\u00a0EXPLORER)<br \/>\n2. \u00a0Go to the TOOLS menu at the top of the WINDOWS EXPLORER and select FOLDER OPTIONS<br \/>\n3. \u00a0Click on the VIEW tab<br \/>\n4. \u00a0Select SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS<br \/>\n5. \u00a0Click OK<br \/>\n6. \u00a0The hidden folder that you just hid will now appear, only it will be faded, which means that it&#8217;s a hidden folder<br \/>\n7. \u00a0You can now open it and view\/work with the files<br \/>\n8. \u00a0To hide it again, just follow Steps 6 &#8211; 10, except in Step 9, select\u00a0DO NOT SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS, but make sure\u00a0you do not have any of the files that are in that folder open in any<br \/>\nprogram<\/p>\n<p><b>How to No Longer Hide the Hidden Folder and Its Contents<\/b><\/p>\n<p>If you no longer wish to hide that folder and its contents, and you have the folder options set to DO NOT SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS, (where you can&#8217;t see the hidden folder) then\u00a0follow steps 1 &#8211; \u00a05 under\u00a0<b>How\u00a0to See the Hidden Folder and its Contents<\/b>&#8230; above.<\/p>\n<p>Once you see the hidden folder (again, it will be faded), then do the\u00a0following:<\/p>\n<p>1. \u00a0RIGHT-click on the folder<br \/>\n2. \u00a0Select PROPERTIES<br \/>\n3. \u00a0UNcheck the box next to\u00a0HIDDEN<br \/>\n4. \u00a0Click OK<br \/>\n<!--adsense--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ianbrown.cc\/blog\/services\/\">Los Angeles Computer Repair<\/a> | <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ianbrown.cc\/blog\/services\/\">Los Angeles Computer Tech<\/a> | <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ianbrown.cc\/blog\/services\/\">Computer Repair Services<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is a little known, but very handy tip that you can use whenever you want to hide your files and folders for whatever reason (e.g. the files have valuable financial info, you don&#8217;t want anyone else who uses your computer to see them, etc.).
