Copy and paste the following line into Notepad:<\/p>\n<p>          X5O!P%@AP[4\\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*<\/p>\n<p>   2. Go to File>Save, and save the file as &#8220;EICAR.COM&#8221;.  Include the quotes when saving it, as this tells Notepad that this is the exact name you want to give the file, including the extension.<br \/>\n   4. Scan it on the test machine or e-mail the file to the test machine<br \/>\n   5. Delete the file when done testing<\/p>\n<p>AVAST Antivirus picked it up right away on my system!<\/p>\n<p>NOTE: This is a FAKE virus and is completely SAFE to create for testing the anti-virus program on your computer.
