@Marion Thank you for leaving such a touching comment. I can imagine what you went through can be equated with being temporarily blind for a while, and then getting your vision back. I’m glad I could play a small part in helping you to “get your vision back.” It’s why I do what I do.

Thank you. I recently reinstalled XP SP3 and found my QT’s had turned green with audio only. I found a fix elsewhere that said turn off ‘directdraw acceleration’ and left it at that. Your explanation is precise and step by step which I wholly appreciate.

In my case “Safe Mode” worked.
